KARTET Exam Overview
The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the Government of Karnataka, School Education Department. Passing it is one of the essential qualifications to become a teacher for Classes I to VIII in schools across Karnataka, in line with NCTE norms under the RTE Act, 2009. KARTET is conducted through two papers: Paper I for candidates targeting Classes I to V, and Paper II for candidates targeting Classes VI to VIII.
The most recently completed cycle, KARTET-2025, was held on 7 December 2025, and results have already been declared. As of this page’s last verification date, the Karnataka School Education Department had not yet released a notification for the next KARTET cycle.

Who Can Take KARTET?
KARTET follows the same general NCTE-based eligibility structure used across state Teacher Eligibility Tests:
Paper I (Classes I to V): Senior Secondary / PUC (or equivalent) with the minimum pass percentage set by that year’s notification, plus a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or another NCTE-recognised equivalent qualification.
Paper II (Classes VI to VIII): Graduation with the minimum pass percentage set by that year’s notification, plus a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or another NCTE-recognised equivalent qualification.
Exact pass percentages, category-wise relaxations, and any changes to accepted qualifications (these have been revised between recent KARTET cycles) are set out in each year’s official notification and Information Bulletin. Always confirm against the current notification before applying, not against this page or any third-party source.

Do these practice tests cover the full KARTET syllabus?
No. Each is a shortened 60-question practice set covering four of the official sections, not the full 150-question official paper. See “About These Practice Tests” above for exactly what each one covers.
What is the difference between the three practice tests?
Paper I targets Classes I–V and covers Child Development & Pedagogy, English Language, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper II has two streams for Classes VI–VIII: the Mathematics & Science stream covers Child Development & Pedagogy, English Language, Mathematics and Science, while the Social Science stream covers Child Development & Pedagogy, English Language and Social Science.
Has KARTET-2026 been notified?
