What happened?

Read the unit before using the number

An aggregate outlay, a per-airport annual cap and a support duration answer different questions. An approved amount does not establish actual expenditure.

Worked ceiling example: the source gives an airport O&M cap of ₹3.06 crore per year and describes support for three years. Under the explicit assumption that one eligible airport received the full cap in each of those three years, the ceiling would be ₹3.06 crore × 3 = ₹9.18 crore. This is an illustrative upper-bound calculation, not an allocation or payment claim.

Check your interpretation: does that multiplication establish how much every airport will receive? No. The calculation applies stated assumptions to a cap; eligibility, actual support and expenditure must be established separately.
