The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test on 6 September 2026, a Sunday, covering Paper I and Paper II. The public notice is numbered CBSE/CTET/Sept./2026/e-73233 and is dated 8 May 2026.

CBSE states that if the number of candidates increases, the examination may also be conducted on 5 September 2026, a Saturday.

Online applications open on 11 May 2026 through ctet.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. The last date to submit the application, and to pay the fee, is 10 June 2026 at 23:59.

Candidates can correct the particulars they uploaded between 15 June 2026 and 18 June 2026. CBSE states that no corrections are allowed after that date under any circumstances.

Admit cards are available two days before the day of the examination.

The test is conducted in twenty-seven languages across 132 cities.
